I'm not sure if my heart, mind, and soul are ever at ease the way they are when I'm running. Running is the most spiritual thing I do in my life. I guess running would be my, "God spoke to me that night" moment. I'm not making fun of the people who say things like that, even though it is kind of funny. I'm just saying that running alone when the sun is away is probably the closest thing to a connection with God that I've ever known/had. I was running down a dark and silent country road a few days ago around 10:30 p.m. The stars were a lot brighter than normal, as they usually are in the country. The moon was very comfortable to look at. And for the first time, I had to completely stop running and take out my headphones. Standing there with red eyes I felt like I meant it when I said, "Thank You for my life, my pain, my tears, my heart, my moments of invincibility, and my parents." I usually feel like it's a chore to send praises like that to the creator. There are a few moments when I feel like I mean it, and during running is usually when I feel those moments the most. Don't lose the place where you feel like you're one. Hopefully it happens in more and more places each and every day.
